What is CBD oil? 

CBD oil, known as cannabidiol, is an oil that is extracted from cannabis plants.  This oil contains cannabinoids which are chemicals found naturally in marijuana plants.  Even though they originate in marijuana plants, these chemicals do not produce a ‘high’ sensation.  Furthermore, CBD oil is not a psychoactive ingredient which means it will not affect perception, consciousness, or behavior.  Instead, these chemicals are capable of binding to particular receptors located in the brain.  This ability greatly influences the healing processes of the body and is useful in treatment for a variety of illnesses.  

Studies have shown that CBD oil is a promising treatment for numerous forms of anxiety, including social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and PTSD.  CBD oil provides great relief when managing symptoms anxiety may elicit.  CBD will target the central and peripheral nervous systems and cause them to relax their responses.  This oil will relax your body’s ‘fight or flight’ response to decrease the feelings anxiety brings about.  In other words, CBD ‘talks’ to your body and tells it that it is indeed safe.
