♡Every month is Pride Month at Lynsey Noel! We want to celebrate the love shared by every sexuality, identity, and gender!

On June 28, 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Greenwich Village, New York. Tensions arose as patrons resisted arrest and a growing crowd of bystanders threw bottles and coins at the officers. After this event, the community broke out into riots that went on for three days after being fed up after years of harassment. This uprising was monumental and is now celebrated in rainbow color every year during the month of June, named "Pride Month!" The name Pride is credited to Brenda Howard, a bisexual NYC activist who organized the first Pride parade. She was nicknamed the "Mother of Pride."

June 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of annual LGBTQ+ Pride traditions. The first Pride march in New York City was held on June 28, 1970 on the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. In the years since, Pride has been celebrated worldwide with parades and other events for everyone including those from outside the LGBTQ+ community, giving them an opportunity to support, observe, listen, and be educated!
